FlexJobs India: What You Actually Get for Rs 5,940 a Year

An Indian woman weighs a subscription with her debit card beside a laptop at night, checking flexjobs india

FlexJobs in India costs Rs 245 for a 14 day trial, then Rs 1,985 every four weeks or Rs 5,940 a year. On 9 September 2026 it listed 227,983 jobs worldwide, but only 1,060 in India and 283 open to anyone anywhere. The screening is real. The India depth is not.

Searches for FlexJobs from India have risen more than fivefold in a year, and it is easy to see why. It promises the one thing every remote job hunter wants, a list of real jobs with the rubbish taken out, then asks you to pay before you can see it. That is an uncomfortable ask to put to somebody who is job hunting precisely because they have no income. So we opened it from an Indian connection on 9 September 2026 and counted what is actually inside.

What does FlexJobs actually cost in India?

Every English language review of FlexJobs quotes the price in dollars. From an Indian connection the site does not use dollars at all: it prices in rupees, and nobody appears to have written that down. We read the FlexJobs pricing page from India on 9 September 2026, then compared it against an archived copy of the same page crawled from the United States on 27 August 2026. Same page, two different price sheets.

PlanShown from India, 9 Sep 2026Archived US copy, 27 Aug 2026Full year cost from India
14 day full accessRs 245, then Rs 1,985 every 4 weeks2.95 dollars, then 23.95 every 4 weeksAbout Rs 25,805
3 month full accessRs 2,475 up front29.85 dollars up frontRs 9,900
Annual full accessRs 5,940 up front71.40 dollars up frontRs 5,940
Rupee prices read from India on 9 September 2026. Dollar prices from the archived page linked above. Yearly totals are ours.

At any exchange rate the rupee has held this year, those rupee figures track the dollar ones closely. So this is not India pricing, it is the same price billed in your own currency, which is a courtesy rather than a discount. Useful to know before you assume a local rate is a local rate.

Look hard at the first row, because it is the one most people click. Rs 1,985 every four weeks is not a monthly charge. A year holds thirteen four week periods, not twelve, so thirteen renewals at Rs 1,985 comes to Rs 25,805. That is more than four times the annual plan for exactly the same access. The Rs 245 trial is the cheapest way in and comfortably the most expensive way to stay.

The refund terms are better than the pricing structure. FlexJobs states on that page that if you are unhappy for any reason you can cancel and request a refund within 14 days of account creation or renewal, by phone, email or chat.

Kitne jobs India ke liye actually hain?

This is the number that decides whether any of the rest matters, and we could not find a single review that had counted it. FlexJobs advertises its worldwide total loudly and its India depth not at all. So we read the counts straight off its own location pages on the same day.

Every figure read on 9 September 2026 from the FlexJobs location page named in that row. FlexJobs blocks automated readers, so these were counted by hand in a browser.

Add the India listings to the work from anywhere pool and you get roughly 1,343 jobs out of 227,983. About one listing in every 170 is one an applicant sitting in India can realistically pursue. The other 169 are somebody else’s.

The direction of travel matters more than the snapshot. An archived copy of the same India page from 17 April 2026 advertised 1,719 jobs. Today it advertises 1,060, a fall of about 38 percent in under five months, on a page selling twelve month subscriptions. From outside we cannot tell whether that is the Indian remote market contracting or FlexJobs pruning its index, and we will not pretend otherwise. Either way, judge the year by what is listed today.

Why are half the India listings hybrid, not remote?

We read the first fifty listings on the India page one by one. Twenty four were badged hybrid, which means an office in Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Mohali or Gurugram and a commute on the days the employer asks for one. Twenty six were fully remote. Not one of the fifty was data entry, typing, form filling or any of the categories that bring most Indian readers to a remote job board in the first place.

The titles we saw were Staff Software Engineer, Principal Software Development Engineer, Business Analyst III, SAP ABAP Developer, Senior Clinical Data Team Lead and Payroll Analyst. This is a board of mid career and senior corporate roles that happen to allow flexibility. Ghar baithe typing ka kaam yahan nahin milega, and it is better to hear that now than after the card is charged.

Many job postings labeled as remote still require a regular physical commute.

The work from anywhere pool is the interesting one, and it is small for an obvious reason: those roles are open to the entire planet at once. The ones we saw quoted dollars, an iOS developer at 74 to 84 dollars an hour and a software quality manager at 129,193 to 202,962 dollars a year. Real money, and competition to match. If that is the tier you want, our breakdown of which skills actually pay Indians on global platforms beats any subscription as a starting point.

What do people who paid for FlexJobs actually report?

What follows is testimony, not evidence. It is what reviewers say happened to them, which is a different thing from what a platform pays or promises. We read the two largest public review pools and the recent forum threads, and the pattern was consistent enough to be worth knowing before you type in a card number.

  • Trustpilot carries 7,797 reviews at 4.1 out of 5, with 65 percent at five stars and 8 percent at one. A reviewer in Jordan on 7 September 2026 wrote that most of the positions he found required a United States location, which is the same finding our own count produced.
  • SmartCustomer, the review site formerly called Sitejabber, carries 18,396 reviews at 4.2 out of 5. Billing is the dominant complaint. A reviewer in September 2025 described the four weekly charge arriving sooner than the confirmation email had led them to expect, and one in November 2025 said a refund request after the trial returned only part of the money paid.
  • A reviewer in August 2025 reported that jobs badged as new had already been sitting on the employer’s own careers page for one to four weeks.
  • On Reddit, five separate threads posted between September 2025 and April 2026 in the RemoteJobs, remotework and remoteworks communities asked whether the subscription is worth paying for, drawing roughly 170 comments between them. The thread bodies would not load for us, so we are citing the fact that the question keeps being asked, not any conclusion inside them. One of the larger ones is this January 2026 thread.
  • Cutting the other way, and it matters: nearly two thirds of Trustpilot reviewers give five stars, and FlexJobs publishes named success stories from Indian members hired at Lionbridge and Cactus Communications.

Where the accounts and the official story agree, the listings really are screened and support really does answer. Where they part company is renewal timing. FlexJobs says cancel any time and means it. Reviewers say the charge came early and mean that too. Both can be true at once, because Rs 1,985 every four weeks looks like a monthly bill and is not one. It arrives thirteen times a year, roughly two days earlier each month than a calendar date would.

Is FlexJobs a scam, or just a subscription?

It is a subscription, and the distinction is worth drawing because this site spends most of its time on the other thing. A registration fee scam takes money for a job that does not exist, sends a fake offer letter and evaporates. FlexJobs takes money for a list, publishes the list, refunds inside 14 days if you ask, and has a phone number attached. Calling both of them a scam helps nobody trying to tell them apart.

What it shares with the bad ones is the silhouette: money moves from the job seeker to the platform before any work exists. That deserves suspicion by default, and the test is what arrives after payment. A searchable database of named employers means you bought something, even if it turns out to be poor value. A WhatsApp group, a coordinator and a promise means you bought nothing, and the red flags in our guide to fee first data entry offers apply instead.

Paise dene se pehle kya check karein?

You can read the listings without paying, and this is the single most useful thing in this article. On 9 September 2026 the India location page showed us job titles, city, schedule and a summary of each role with no account, no login and no card. What the subscription unlocks is the employer’s name and the route to apply.

So spend ten free minutes before you spend Rs 5,940. Open the India page, then the work from anywhere page, and read forty listings properly. If eight or ten of them are jobs you could credibly be shortlisted for, the annual plan is a defensible bet. If you are scrolling past Principal Engineer roles hunting for something, anything, that fits, close the tab and keep your money. Subscription lene se pehle listings padh lijiye, kyunki woh muft hain.

The free routes are not obviously worse at most levels. Our walkthrough of finding remote jobs on LinkedIn from India covers the filters that work, and the survey of remote working jobs open to Indians lists boards that charge nothing. Earlier in the journey, the realistic online income ladder maps which rung you are on.

Does any Indian tax apply to a FlexJobs subscription?

No, and it is worth saying why, because headlines about a 20 percent tax on foreign spending frightened a lot of people who had bought nothing more exotic than a software subscription. Under the Reserve Bank of India’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme, a resident individual may remit up to 250,000 dollars in a financial year, and tax collected at source starts far above the level of a job board subscription. Rs 5,940 is not within sight of any threshold.

Two practical notes in its place. Your bank may still treat the charge as an international transaction and add a cross currency markup even though the checkout showed rupees, so judge the real cost from your card statement rather than the payment page. And if you file under the presumptive scheme in section 44ADA, a subscription like this is already inside the deemed 50 percent deduction and is not claimed separately on top.

So is it worth Rs 5,940 from India?

For a mid career professional in a metro who wants hybrid or flexible work at a global company, who reads the listings first and buys the annual plan rather than the four weekly one, Rs 495 a month is defensible. For everybody else it is a subscription to a mostly American noticeboard. That is not a scandal, just a product built for a market you are not standing in, and ten free minutes will tell you which of the two you are.

Frequently asked questions

FlexJobs ka refund kaise milta hai?

FlexJobs states on its pricing page that if you are not satisfied you can cancel and request a refund within 14 days of account creation or renewal, by phone, email or its client service chat. Ask inside that window. Several reviewers on public review sites report that requests made after 14 days returned only part of the money, so the date matters more than the reason.

Can I pay for FlexJobs with an Indian debit card?

The checkout showed rupee prices to us from India on 9 September 2026, so an Indian card is the expected payment method. Your bank may still process it as an international transaction and add a cross currency markup on top of the rupee figure shown. Check the statement afterwards, because the amount debited can be a little higher than the price on screen.

Does a FlexJobs subscription guarantee I will get a job?

No, and it does not claim to. What you buy is access to a screened list of openings plus application tools. Reviewers on both major review platforms describe applying to dozens of roles without a reply, which is ordinary for any job board. Treat it as a search tool, never as a placement service, and be wary of anyone who describes it as the latter.

Kya FlexJobs par freshers ke liye jobs hain?

Very few. Of the first fifty India listings we read on 9 September 2026, the titles were overwhelmingly senior: Staff Engineer, Principal Developer, Business Analyst III, Senior Team Lead. Reviewers make the same point, that the board suits specialists better than entry level applicants. Freshers ke liye yeh sahi jagah nahin hai, and the free preview will show you that before you pay.

How do I avoid the four weekly renewal charge?

Either buy the annual plan outright at Rs 5,940, or set a reminder for day twelve of the 14 day trial and decide then. The trap is that Rs 1,985 renews every four weeks rather than every calendar month, so it lands thirteen times a year and drifts a couple of days earlier each time. A reminder tied to a calendar date will eventually miss it.

Is FlexJobs better than LinkedIn for remote jobs from India?

For most Indian applicants, no. LinkedIn carries far more India based openings and costs nothing to search, and its remote filter combined with a location filter does much of the same work. FlexJobs earns its fee mainly by removing scam and commission only listings, which is a real service but a narrower one than the price implies from India.
