Graphic Design Jobs Work From Home India: Per Project Pay

An Indian designer sketching logo concepts at a home desk for graphic design jobs work from home India

Graphic design jobs work from home India pay per project, and the hourly figure depends on the revision rounds. A Rs 2,000 logo with three concepts and two revisions is about Rs 222 an hour over nine hours; a $50 Fiverr gig nets Rs 422. A contest entry pays nothing 29 times in 30. Nobody real charges you to apply.

Listen to this article, about 15 minutes. A synthetic voice reads the article and announces each section title as it begins; tables are read row by row and the questions at the end are left out.

Recorded 20 October 2026 from the article as published that day. Press a chapter to jump there; the highlighted line is what is playing. A play button sits beside every section heading, and once you scroll past this player a bar at the bottom of the screen keeps the controls in reach. Tap or click any sentence to hear the reading start from there.

On this page: one logo brief priced six ways into rupees per hour with the revision rounds counted, the published fee rules of Fiverr, Upwork, 99designs and Designhill read on 20 October 2026, Internshala’s 119 work from home design stipends, 16 dated designer accounts, and a calculator that takes your own hours.

Think you already know this? Five questions, one minute.

Every answer is on this page. Answer from what you know now; the page fills in the rest.

  1. 1. What share of each completed order does Fiverr pay the freelancer?

  2. 2. In the worked example, what does a Rs 2,000 logo come to per hour over nine hours?

  3. 3. What platform fee does 99designs list for an Entry Level designer?

  4. 4. How many active work from home graphic design internships did Internshala show on 20 October 2026?

  5. 5. In the 16 designer accounts this page read, what was the complaint that came up most?

A logo is priced like a samosa and made like a wedding. The number in the offer is for the finished thing; the three concepts the client wanted to “see options” and the two rounds of “can the blue be more blue” are not in it. This page takes the prices that Indian clients, Fiverr, Upwork, 99designs and Designhill publish today and turns each into rupees per hour for the same brief, with every input shown, as our page on freelance writing jobs work from home India did for per word rates.

What do graphic design jobs work from home India actually pay per project?

Here is what each buyer type publishes, read on the day. The last row is the one the listicles quietly fold in, because an internship with a stipend is what a lot of work from home design work in India turns out to be.

Every row read on the platform’s own page on 20 October 2026, except the 99designs help centre and the Upwork cost page, which block automated reads and were confirmed through their own published summaries. Rupee conversions use Rs 95 to the dollar, the open market rate that morning.

The Indian client row is the only one with no platform fee, and the only one with no platform: nobody to complain to if the invoice is ignored, which is why our page on getting the first client from India spends so long on advance payments. The Upwork median of $25 is Upwork’s figure across every logo designer on the site, not a rate Indian beginners are offered; the first Upwork client from India shows what early contracts look like.

Revision rounds ke baad per hour kitna bachta hai?

Take one brief and hold it still: a logo, three concepts, two revision rounds, final files. We count 0.5 hours to read the brief and ask questions, 1.5 hours per concept, 1.5 hours per revision round and one hour for files, which is nine hours. Yeh conservative hai; a client who “just wants to try one more font” takes longer. Now price that same nine hours six different ways.

Our arithmetic on the published figures in the table above, for one logo with three concepts and two revision rounds. The contest rows assume the whole $249 package reaches the winner, which 99designs does not promise, so they are ceilings. Change any input in the calculator below.

The spread is the whole story. The same nine hours are worth Rs 222 from a direct Indian client at the low end of the published range and Rs 1,425 on an Upwork fixed price job at the bottom of Upwork’s own range, before tax in both cases. The contest looks generous only in the winner’s row, and the winner is one person; the realistic row is the average entrant, where the expected value is Rs 447 an hour and the realised value is usually zero. The internship row is not a typo. Rs 2,000 a month at four hours a day is Rs 23 an hour, less than the auto fare to an office you are not going to.

Each extra revision round moves the direct client row from Rs 222 to Rs 190 and then Rs 167 an hour, which is why the number of rounds belongs in the quote, in writing, before the first concept. Agar client bole “unlimited revisions”, the honest reply is a per round price after the second. The calculator below takes your own hours and your own number of rounds.

Our arithmetic on published prices read on 20 October 2026: Internshala stipend, Sprak Design’s freelancer floor, Fiverr’s 80 percent, Upwork’s $150 floor with a 10 percent fee, and 99designs’ $249 Bronze package. The contest rows assume the whole package is the prize, so they are ceilings.

Are 99designs and Designhill contests worth entering from India?

A design contest is the one place in freelancing where the client pays before the work starts and most of the workers are still not paid. The client buys a package; 99designs prices Bronze at $249 for about 30 concepts and Platinum at $1,050, with a money back guarantee for the client, and Designhill sells packages from $99 to $999 that bundle the prize, the fees and the commissions into one number without saying how it splits. On the designer side, 99designs’ designer levels page lists a platform fee of 15 percent at Entry Level, 10 at Mid and 5 at Top, and caps Entry Level designers at 15 contests a month. Its finalist page says 15 percent of the prize in Gold and Platinum contests is shared among the finalists, so a Bronze finalist shares nothing. A new client on a 1-to-1 project also costs you an introduction fee of 20 percent of the first $500, capped at $100, unless you met them through a contest.

The professional bodies have a word for this and the word is not kind. AIGA’s position on spec work says designers should be paid fairly and settle ownership by contract, and its standard letter to clients discourages asking designers to produce work to be considered for a project, on two grounds: the client gets weaker work from a contest that skips the discovery conversation, and the designer gets nothing for the work that lost. A contest is portfolio practice that occasionally pays; it is not a job, and the arithmetic above prices the evening.

What do the work from home design internships on Internshala pay this month?

On 20 October 2026 Internshala’s work from home graphic design page shows 119 active vacancies from 205 companies. Of the first 15 we read, the stipends run from Rs 2,000 a month for three months at an AI education startup, through Rs 5,000 and Rs 6,000 at a merchandise brand, to Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 a month for a three month visual design role. Two are unpaid, both at foundations. None of the 15 mentioned a fee, which matters, because a real internship platform does not let a company charge you to join.

Read a stipend as an hourly rate before you accept it: Rs 2,000 a month is Rs 23 an hour at four hours a day, and Rs 15,000 at full time is about Rs 85. Neither is a crime, and six months with a portfolio at the end can be the cheapest way into a first design salary. But it is training you are being paid for, not design, and the offer should be honest about which. Our page for freshers covers who hires and who charges.

What do designers who used these platforms actually report?

We read 20 public designer reviews of Designhill and 99designs on Trustpilot and Sitejabber on 20 October 2026 and kept the 16 dated within about three years; the four we dropped were from 2022 and early 2023. Eleven were positive, five were complaints, and here is the thing the ranking pages do not tell you: not one of the 16 says a contest closed without the winner being paid. The complaints are about the money coming out and the account staying open.

Ten of the 16 dated designer accounts we read, paraphrased. These are what people report, not verified events, and none of them is an earnings figure.

Where the accounts agree with the official pages: contests do pay a single winner, and a 99designs reply to a client in May 2026 on the same review page confirms that the contest fee covers one winning entry and nothing else. Where they add something the pages leave out: two of the three withdrawal complaints are from August 2026, within the last three months, and three 99designs accounts were closed in 2026 by designers with years on the platform, one of them after 35 wins. 99designs’ own reply to the AI entry account says breaches of its rules can end an account, which is fair, and also means a long contest record is not a tenure. Reddit’s r/IndianFreelancers returned nothing for design in the past year, so these are global accounts; the one Indian voice among them is a studio pleased with a badge.

Which “design job” offers are fee schemes in disguise?

Hands holding a phone beside colour swatches and logo shapes on a desk, checking an offer for graphic design jobs work from home India
A contest pays one entrant; the other 29 practised.

Three patterns show up in the complaint records, and none of them is specific to design, which is itself the tell: the scheme does not care what you do, only that you pay. On Voxya a complainant describes a job approach and money taken as registration fees. On the India Consumer Forum there is a work from home job that existed only until the fee cleared and a job fraud built on a refundable deposit that was never refunded. The pattern is a registration, security or software fee; a promise that it is refundable; and a non refundable discovery once it is paid. The design flavour adds the unpaid “test logo”, where a company collects twenty finished logos as applications and hires nobody. A real studio judges the portfolio you already have, or pays for the test.

Written straight, because this part is not funny. Never pay a registration, training or software fee to get design work. Never share your PAN, Aadhaar or bank login before a signed contract and a first payment. Keep every screenshot. If money has already gone, report it the same day through the cyber crime portal or the 1930 helpline; our page on tracking the complaint explains what follows the acknowledgement number. For the foreign payments that do arrive, the Payoneer India page shows what a $1,000 invoice costs on the way in.

Is this design offer a client or a fee scheme?

Tick each line that is true of the offer in front of you. A real client or employer ticks the first five; any of the last four is a reason to stop.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a logo design pay a freelancer in India per project?

Published guides put a freelancer’s logo at Rs 1,500 to Rs 5,000, with Rs 2,000 named as a floor, and agencies at Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000 and more. Over nine hours a Rs 2,000 logo is about Rs 222 an hour before tax.

Logo ke liye kitne revision rounds free dene chahiye?

Two is the common package in the listings we read, with extra rounds priced separately. Each unpaid extra round on a Rs 2,000 logo drops the hourly figure by Rs 23 to Rs 32, so the number belongs in the written quote.

What does Fiverr pay a graphic designer from each order?

80 percent of the order, cleared 14 days after completion, or 7 days for Seller Plus and top rated sellers. A $50 gig is Rs 3,800 at Rs 95 to the dollar.

99designs contest mein entry dene se paisa milta hai kya?

Only the winner is paid, and on Gold and Platinum contests 15 percent of the prize is shared among finalists. On a Bronze contest with about 30 concepts, 29 entries earn nothing.

Is a design internship paying Rs 2,000 a month legal?

Internshala lists such stipends and India has no stipend floor for interns, so yes. At four hours a day it is Rs 23 an hour; judge it as paid training with a portfolio at the end, not as design work.

Should I do a free test logo to get a design job?

The design profession’s own bodies say no: AIGA discourages work produced to be considered for a project. A real employer judges your portfolio or pays for the test. Twenty free logos from twenty applicants is a free contest, not a hiring process.
